oh! what a morning!

The morning sun was rising, birds were chirping, monkeys swinging from one tree to another, a wild boar family of four roaming around the bushes looking for food and fresh air accompanied by light breeze kissing our cheeks, this was how we started off our Sunday morning on 23rd August 2009 at Bukit Jalil Park.

After all the persuasion, threatening and convincing, we have managed to gather a group of 8 singles to confirmed in attending onePLUSone first ever event - 'Jog-a-buddy'.

We started off with a brief self introduction, followed by a 5-minute warm up session led by Johnson, our volunteered facilitator. Noticed how this event is called 'Jog-a-buddy'? The catch behind this is that the guests will be jogging with a buddy! (note: Just like Liverpool's tagline 'you will never walk alone'!) And now who and how we would determine their buddy, you might ask. Simple, the ladies were asked to draw a piece of paper randomly from a bowl, with the name of their jog buddy written on it. And off they went running for the next 45-minutes, in pairs!

At 8.45am, by now Ms. late and Mr late were there in time to join us for breakfast (note: Kelly and Shawn claimed that they overslept! hrmph!). Menu for the day was homemade ham and cheese sandwich served on lightly toasted white bread, homemade oven-baked chocolate and blueberry muffins, almond muesli bars, Milkyway fun-sized chocolates, bananas & apples, and of course Nescafe and Milo to end our breakfast with a perfect note.

Right after breakfast, the fun and exciting game session began. Since the ladies did the draw for their jog buddy, the guys did the draw this round to determine who their team mate would be. They were divided into four groups, given 10 minutes each and played trivial pursuit with tricky questions in relation to 'Totally 80s', 'Travel the world' and 'Food for Life'. While the papers were being evaluated, we shared the answers with everyone, and though this, were able to get to know each other further.

By now, the papers were marked and lucky winners were born. The mystery prize for winning this game? A pair of movie tickets for that same afternoon! The lucky winners? Liza and Boon! A round of applause for winning, just by an extra point than the group that came in second.

According to the programme planned for this event, we were supposed to have adjourned and gone home by now. But we had so much fun and wanted to go jog some more, along with the organizers this time round (note: Awww.... that is so sweet! at least I know that we were not forgotten! Thanks, guys!)

After spending three and a half hours filled with sweat, fun and laughter at Bukit Jalil Park, we have finally decided to say goodbye.

We would like to thank everyone for coming and we promised that we will bring you more fun and exciting outings in the near future! Until then, adios!

Remark: Some of us made our way to Neway karaoke at Puchong to continue with the fun, for 7 hours straight of serious karaoke singing! rotfl! While Liza and Boon get busy preparing for their movie date. *smirk*

We are proud to present you the first ever social networking/lifestyle event organized by onePLUSone for the eligible singles in the Klang Valley. To keep the event small and intimate, we are only inviting 20 individuals, consisting of 10 guys and 10 gals. Enjoy a healthy spread of breakfast at the picnic after the jog. We promised you a day of fun and good food, and 19 new friends!
